I just wanted to add a few words to and for the rest of the world…I won't say it's the best album you've put out to date as I enjoy them all…this one will always be special for me as I had the privlege of watching you perform it live at the bearsville. It is logged in my memory banks forever and by the way…I can't stop playing this cd…and for those of you that don't have it….GET IT…you'll be addicted just like me. All the best -

First we connected on Cinema Treasures and now here, Robbie. LOL! Just wanted you to know that I prize your older songs and look forward to the new material you mentioned. As we're both local ENY lads, I feel pretty secure in saying that there was a musical force that drove both of us, as it did Neil Diamond in Coney Island, the late Harry Chapin in Brooklyn Heights, as well as many others. Wishing you continued success!

I played most of the debut album on my radio show this weekend and the feedback took me by surprise. A communal chord has been struck, both for the music and the times ir represents. Looks like I'll be playing a LOT more on the show - shame about the crackles on my much played vinyl! :-)

I have no words to express my feelings after the Paris magic night. I am back home in Italy, after almost 48 hours since I listened to the last note, my life has restarted as usual, but my mind remains set on the special atmosphere and on the unforgettable melodies you guys created. The show was amazing, and I hope there'll be soon another chance to see you play again in Europe, hopefully in Italy. I'm 30 now. I remember the first time I heard "steal away" I was a bit younger than but I honestly have to say that because of that (1) song I grew to love all types of music. I know you probably get tried of being called the "steal away" guy but I'm very proud knowing that (1) song changed my life in more ways than one. I'll admit this is the first time I even see what you look like. I'd figure you would be shorter nonetheless the voice is simply "overpowering".

I think it's ROBBIE singing back-ground for ROBBIE on "Heart Rod Hearts". Both Robbie and Michael are classic R & B. Blue Eyed singers ,(ala Daryl Hall,The Rascals etc.)so maybe that's where you're making the connection. The difference I think is Michael WALKED into an already sucessful band where as Robbie worked his way up from Jump Street.

Question and Comment. First, comment....we have ALWAYS loved your stuff Robbie. My wife and I are in our 30's and are very familiar with your first 3 releases and love every toone on them. Now the question....my wife says that HAS to be Michael McDonald (doobie brothers) singing backup on "Hot Rod Hearts"...you know who I mean, he has a deeper tenor voice. Settle the score SOMEONE. Can anyone here confirm or deny that Michael McDonald did NOT sing harmony vocals on that toon???? Thanks!!!!!!!

I am Cuban. In My country there is a communist tyranny and as a result the government would persecute and ban american music. However, many of us would risk to listen to that great music. One of my favourites was YOU.. Ever since I heard Steal Away and Hot Rod Hearts I decided I had to get more songs from you. I have been able to compile most of your songs from friends and buying your CD> You bring back great memories from the times when we were not allowed to listen to you and yet.. we would risk anything to do it... we felt FREE just by listening. Now I live in miami in Freedom and I have most of your songs. However I don't have that first song from 1976 that's mentioned on your biography and would love to have it.. Where can I get it? Please let me know so I can buy the CD. Thank you for your great music... and yes!.. do that Greatest Hits CD (I would go anywhere to buy it!)

First off steal away and hot rod hearts are great. But those are just two of his songs. Id say they got better robbie seeems to be underrated he has a great voice and great music. Street corner heroes in my opinion is just as good if not better than the 1980 debut. Songs like brooklyn girls, free fallin, desperation and the long goodbye are great. Same with carried away i finally got walking on water last week from ebay the whole cd is great especially right direction a great romantic ballad. Im in the process of making two 80min burnt cd's from kazza and winmx his music is hard to find but totally worth searching for. I agree with one person's coment a greatest hits cd would be awesome something to think about. take care

When I was still a student in the early 80's, I found "Street Corner Heroes" in discount sale. I bought the record, althought I knew nothing about it. However, that vinyl record, which I still own (of course) became one of my dearest records. I have listened through it over and over again. It is full of melodic, relaxing music that turns me into good mood and makes me think more positively about life. Thank you Robbie !

I must agree with the poster below who said "Steal Away" is his favourite tune. That song has so much meaning to me; the hypnotic lyrics just make me want to dance the night away at some grungy late 70's/early 80's disco from the Carter era. Long live the 80's!

Robbie Dupree brings back memories of my girl crazy days in junior high with the song "Girls in Cars", this song is so great that I have been searching for this song for 14 years. Finally, I found it through a good friend of mine. However, it would be nice to know if anyone has the lyrics to this wonderful song. I wonder why this song was not added to one of his album. Wow...23 years later the lyrics still strike a chord and bring a tear to my eye. I believe it is one of the most underated songs of the decade.

Gracias.

Hello Robbie Dupree and his fans. A couple of weeks ago I was grocery shopping when "Steal Away" began playing as part of the music Stop & Shop plays for its patrons. I found myself practically dancing down the aisles. What a treat! Since I can't carry a tune, I controlled myself and didn't sing along. Hearing Robbie's voice made my day. Best regards.

Robbie talked to my class in Hudson Valley Lit this semester. Here are a couple of the comments: "Robbie Dupree kicked ass! This was one of the coolest things a Marist class has showed me." "I really enjoyed Robbie Dupree because he was able to give us a background in what it is like to be a musician in the Hudson Valley, but more than that he discussed the politics that are undoubtedly a part of the music industry."

I think I couldn't have been much older than 17 when I was introduced to your debut album by friends of my mom. How vividly I recall that ... I was lucky I always cared for those special, high-class mail order labels over here in Europe and own all your albums up to "Vintage" [the other two come for sure!]. Now I'm 38 and you're still here on the internet. A great website, it looks brilliant. A generation of outstanding AOR music, for sure! I hope I'll be able to see you perform in the Phoenix, AZ area [where I'm visiting frequently]. "Walking On Water" is my favorite. Go on like this, Berlin is listening to you ! Love, a fan

Hi, Robbie. I'm not a long time fan of yours, but I absolutely LOVE "Girls In Cars" from the old WWF Piledriver CD. I'm a guitar player, and I've been trying to figure out both the lyrics and how to play the guitar parts, and I'd love to know if there's anyone who visits this site who knows the words to this song, or if anyone happens to play guitar and can play it, I'd be very greatful to learn how to play this. Anyone who has a reply to this can email me at ftw_cory@angelfire.com Thank you all, and hope to hear from someone soon.
